Abstract(in English) | The stripe of a tropical freshwater fish ``neon tetra'' consists of many iridophores, in which slanted reflecting platelets are periodically arranged. The neon tetra has structural coloration and changes the color of a stripe by changing the slanted angle and the interval of the platelets in response to the surrounding conditions. We consider a slanted subwavelength grating modeled on the iridophore of a neon tetra. This paper reformulates the matrix eigenvalues method for an analytical method of the three-dimensional scattering problem of a dielectric grating with a slanted grating vector. Calculating the reflection spectrum, the tristimulus values of standard RGB (sRGB) and the xy chromaticity coordinates for slanted gratings, we numerically show that the color changes depending on the slanted angles. |
