Learning Environment Design for Science and Engineering Students to Get How to Solve Problems with Design Thinking

Abstract(in English) The Graduate School of Natural Science and Technology at Gifu University has been conducting design thinking education for first-year students in master’s program since 2017. People from different specialized fields will solve complex problems such as social issues in a co-creation. Aiming of using design strategies in the future, we designed a learning environment for the students who worked on problem-solving learning using design thinking. Particular consideration was to create support tools that facilitate the co-creation, to acquire design strategies through problem-solving practice, and to reflect on the problem-solving process. In this study, we will report the learning contents, implementation method and learning results through learning design.
