Abstract(in English) | In heterogeneous network in which low-transmission-power pico-base stations (BSs) are overlaid onto the coverage of a high-transmission-power macro-BS, BS activation control is essential for improving power efficiency of mobile communication network and system throughput by reducing inter-cell interference. However, the users connected to the BS whose transmission of all bandwidth was turned off should reconnect to other BS (handover) and the throughput of handover users are degraded by handover time. In this paper, we make improvements on the conventional decentralized probabilistic frequency-block activation method in order to reducing handover frequency by always activating some frequency blocks in each BS. Computer simulation results, in which the handover time is taken into account, show the effectiveness of the proposed method. |
