Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) Distributed MIMO cooperative wireless access network achieves a high link capacity uniformly over the base station area (BS cell) by forming a number of virtual small cells called user clusters and reusing the same frequency in all user clusters simultaneously. The sum link capacity is expected to increase by a factor of as the number of user clusters. However, since users located at cluster edge suffer from strong interference from surrounding clusters, the sum link capacity cannot be increased as expected. In this paper, we propose a joint user clustering and scheduling. Firstly dense user-clusters are formed based on user location information and then, they are grouped into different layers so that clusters on each layer satisfy the interference offset distance (which is determined according to the required transmission quality). Distributed antenna selection is done for each cluster on each layer. To reduce the inter-cluster interference (ICI), each layer is given transmission opportunity in sequence by scheduling. We evaluate by computer simulation the user capacity and the sum capacity to show the effectiveness of the proposed joint user clustering and scheduling.
