Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) Practically, it is significantly difficult to assume that carrier frequencies are ideally synchronized among users, and these offsets cause the severe degradation of the performance of active user detection (AUD). Conventional method performs the AUD effectively even in the presence of carrier frequency offset (CFO) utilizing Taylor approximation and block coordinate descent method. However, this method requires the maximal number of active users as a prior information while this assumption is not reasonable for grant-free access in which users transmit autonomously. Besides, since the performance degrades as the number of potential users increases, this conventional scheme is not appropriate to accommodate massive users which is a main target of grant-free access. In this paper, we propose new AUD, which does not need any a prior information unlike the conventional scheme. Our proposal utilizes coordinate descent method and a peek estimation method for angle-of-arrival. Computer simulations confirm the proposed scheme can estimate the active users accurately.
