| Abstract(in English) | This research clarifies a part of the integration and transfer process of novel words into mental lexicon for the Japanese English learners. After doing novel word learning, it was investigated whether the lexical competition effect would occur by lexical decision task. Although the lexical decision task was performed three times at intervals, delay of judgment time of existing words was seen through the whole session, suggesting the lexical competition effect. This resulted in the lexical competition effects appearing earlier than in the study of English native speakers. In addition, this study suggested the importance of vocabulary acquisition by phonological information. |
