Abstract(in English) | Due to the rapid spread of smartphones and related applications, mobile traffic rates have been increased. To meet with such a huge demand, 5G is planned to operate from 2020. However, in Japan, 26GHz band which is one of the most potent bands for the 5G has been already utilized by a fixed wireless access system. Therefore, a dynamic spectrum sharing scheme is needed to effectively manage the spectrum. To realize that, path loss prediction is vital to determine the location where Secondary Users (SUs) are allowed to transmit. Since propagation characteristics in mmWave band have blockage sensitivity, the use of free space path loss model and typical stochastic model tend to be conservative and thus SUs lose their transmission opportunities. In this paper, the deterministic prediction method of spectrum availability which focuses on the dominant path was proposed. Considering the blockage sensitivity, actual building shape, height, and elevation profile are taken into account. Also, the source of the detection error was examined through analysis of the delay and directional characteristics obtained by the 3D ray-tracing simulation tool. |
