Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) Our research group is investigating the establishment of non-destructive inspection technology for metals inside opaque film by utilizing the high transmittance of terahertz waves to non-polar substances and the high reflection characteristics of metal surfaces. In particular, terahertz spectroscopic measurements of iron-based corrosion products are performed, and an absorption characteristic database in the terahertz band is constructed. In addition, terahertz spectroscopic imaging measurement was performed on β-FeOOH, which was confirmed to have an absorption peak at 3.06 THz by terahertz spectroscopic measurement. As a result, the presence of corrosion products under the coating film could be visualized as a two-dimensional image from the decrease in reflection intensity due to absorption.
