Encircled Angular Flux Evaluation of Modal Power Distributions from Multimode Optical Waveguide

Abstract(in English) EAF (Encircled Angular Flux) is applied as a quantitative mode distribution measurement evaluation method for step index (SI) multimode fiber. In this study, we propose EAF evaluation of modal power distributions from multimode optical waveguide. We measured EAF from SI-type polymer optical waveguide. We obtained FFP images and EAF on an arbitrary output end face. These EAF results were consistent regardless of output position. Thus the SI-type multimode optical waveguide can be measured and evaluated by the EAF.
