Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) Break arcs were generated in a 48VDC resistive circuit and blown-out by transverse magnetic field. Circuit current when electrical contacts were closed I0 was changed from 50A to 200A. Magnetic flux density Bx were changed to 5mT, 20mT, 40mT and 80mT. For each condition, arc length just before arc extinction L was analyzed five times and the dependence of the L on the Bx was investigated. Following results were obtained. The L decreased with increasing the Bx. For each Bx, the L at the I0 = 50A was shorter than those at the I0 = 100A, 150A and 200A. The L was almost constant at the I0 = 100A, 150A and 200A for each Bx.
