Abstract(in English) | In a compliance test of wireless communication devices, a head or a flat phantom filled with a human tissue equivalent liquid is employed. A specific absorption rate (SAR) is evaluated by an electric field which propagates from the wireless device set on outside of the phantom into the human tissue equivalent liquid. The electric field intensity in the liquid is measured by an output voltage of a SAR probe. A relationship between the electric field and the output voltage, in other words, a probe calibration is conducted by inserting the a SAR probe to a waveguide filled with the human tissue equivalent liquid. The waveguide used for the probe calibration is divided into hollow and liquid sections, and a dielectric slab is inserted between the two sections as the matching section. The matching section design (thickness, dielectric property) have been discussed based on an experimental rule. In this study, we formulated an electric field distribution in the calibration waveguide. Secondly, based on this formulation, optimal parameters were derived to minimize a reflection in the matching section. Finally, we also considered the optimal thickness when a realistic dielectric material is used, and the result was compared with that of an electromagnetic simulation. |
