Micromagnetic analysis of MAMR recording head

Abstract(in English) A micromagnetic model analysis of STOs was carried out to realize stable STO oscillation with small J. Using write heads with a tilted and parallel, 20 nm MP ? TS gap we investigated STO oscillation as a function of 1) STO tilt angle with respect to recording media surface and 2) Gilbert damping factor α of the write head. We found 1) Gilbert damping factor α of the write head, especially in the main pole ? trailing shield (MP ? TS) gap region, greatly affected the STO oscillation. 2) STO oscillated stably in a parallel MP ? TS gap. 3) STO/gap tilt angle of 15° seemed good. 4) Injected current density to STO of J = 3×10^8 A/cm^2 was enough, compared with J = 6×10^8 A/cm^2 in our previous models.
