Abstract(in Japanese) | (See Japanese page) |
Abstract(in English) | Microwave assisted magnetic recording (MAMR) draws attention as a recording technology to increase the recording densities in a hard disk drive (HDD), and development of signal processing systems suitable for MAMR has been required. In this report, in order to develop the suitable signal processing system for MAMR, we construct a read/write (R/W) model of MAMR using the discrete granular medium model, the magnetic field of recording head, and the effect of spin-torque oscillator (STO) obtained by micromagnetic simulation. Then, we evaluate the recorded condition by the medium magnetization and bit reliability. Furthermore, we evaluate the bit error rate (BER) performance of the low-density parity-check (LDPC) coding and iterative decoding as a signal processing system for the shingled magnetic recording (SMR) using the constructed MAMR R/W channel model. The results clarify that assisting by the STO improves the magnetization conditions so as to be close to the recording information, and it improves about 1.3 dB of the required signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) to achieve no-errors. |
