| Abstract(in English) | This paper presents two cases that upsampling is required for implementing Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing (OFDM) from the digital signal processing (DSP) point of view. We first show that 2 times upsampling, or 4 or more times upsampling is required when the quadrature modulation for OFDM is realized by DSP. Three methods for implementing the upsampling are also provided. We next show that 2 or more times upsampling is required at the transmit side when the original digital data are restored at the receive side from the real part only of the Inverse Discreet Fourier Transform (IDFT) output. This is clarified based on the sampling theorem for periodic functions. We also describe one method only of the three ones above can be applied to this case. |
