Available bandwidth estimation method using MACD index

Abstract(in English) In recent years, services that consume bandwidth on the Internet have become popular. In order to provide these services stably, it is necessary to estimate the available bandwidth of the communication channel. So far, many methods such as pathChirp and Pathload have been proposed for estimating the available bandwidth between end-to-end. However, in the conventional method, estimation accuracy decreases due to delay fluctuations. In this study, we propose a method for estimating the available bandwidth that is robust against delay fluctuations by using MACD (Moving Average Convergence Divergence), which applies moving average lines. Furthermore, simulation is performed using NS-2. And we show that the proposed method has higher estimation accuracy of available bandwidth than the conventional method.
