Non-Orthogonal Cross Point Detection with Function and Numerical Models

Abstract(in English) This paper studies non-orthogonal cross point detection problem for a fish-eye camera calibration. We suggest that cross point detector for checker pattern images which captured with fish-eye camera. Our method estimates cross points with cascaded two steps. First, expanded logistic function using two lines parameterized with their rotations to fit checker patters as 3-dimentional shapes composed of two-dimensional pixel coordinates and pixel values. The logistic function is differentiable and used for searching parameters by decent algorithms to detect cross point roughly. Second, A numerical model is defined by areas separated with higher and lower pixel values. This numerical model is fitted for three-dimensional and parameterized for accumulated pixel values to express subpixel resolution. Experiment results in simulations show that our proposed method detects cross points with 0.05 pixels in root-mean-square error.
