Abstract(in English) This paper discusses an approximation method for uncertainty propagation in a hierarchical model. The uncertainty propagation is to estimate how much effect of estimation errors of model parameters on the estimation of system performance indices in mathematical models. The moment-based approximation method is to estimate the uncertainty propagation by using the parametric sensitivities. In this paper, we focus on the uncertainty propagation for a hierarchical model. The hierarchical model consists of fault trees and Markov chains, and are one of the most important modeling frameworks in the reliability evaluation. In the paper, we introduce the moment-based approximation methods for fault trees based on BDD (binary decision diagram) and Markov chains, and present the moment-based approximation for a hierarchical model by combining them.
