Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) In recent years, the operating frequency of devices has increased, and the housing is made of resin for weight reduction. As a result, EMI(Electromagnetic Interference) may affect communications. In addition, the explosive spread of IoT devices has a great influence on the radio environment. We have engaged in the research and development (R&D) of technology to select the optimal wireless communication system and transmission parameters taking account for radio environment. In the course of that research, we have measured noise and interference that may affect wireless communications, especially in unlicensed bands where IoT devices are often used. This paper reports the results. In order to measure the radio environment easily, we have developed a small-sized radio wave monitoring node “Radio Catcher”. This monitoring node can carry out monitoring of spectrum and spectrogram at the same time with a bandwidth of 100 MHz at a frequency from 400 MHz to 6 GHz. It also can record IQ signals. In addition, by processing the spectrogram statistically for each WiFi channel, the channel occupancy required for this study can be calculated. By replacing the baseband processing FPGA with a new circuit, we plan to add various functions in the future. In this presentation, we give a demonstration of this monitoring node.
