Abstract(in English) | Gap waveguide consists of parallel metal plates and waffle iron structure, which has electromagnetic bandgap. The waffle iron structure has structural periodicity in the propagation direction. Therefore, the cross-sectional eigenmodes have different properties against Floquet modes considered the structural periodicity. The cross-sectional modes also have N+1 propagation modes where N is equal to the number of metal pins including in the cross section. Electrical power is divided into the propagation modes. Consequently, modal analysis based on the cross-sectional modes is not suitable for the gap waveguide. In this paper, we apply Floquet modal analysis for an accurate analysis of the gap waveguide. The analysis is applided to mode converter. |
