Abstract(in Japanese) | (See Japanese page) |
Abstract(in English) | To remotely monitor a power transmission tower's network in a mountainous area where a communication infrastructure is unavailable or too costly, a multi-hop network with simple low-quality wireless links is considered. In such networks, constraints on the relay node placement sometimes lead to a high packet loss rate due to a long distance and/or severe environmental conditions between two nodes. Furthermore, simultaneous data transmissions among near-by nodes also result in packet losses by interference. On a tandemly-connected network model in which data packets from sensors are conveyed to one of gateways located at both endpoints and reliably connected to a central server, a static time-slot allocation on each link is designed so as to maximize the probability of success delivery of all packets. On the scheduled time-slots, to proactively reduce packet losses, each node transmits its possessing packets multiple times depending on the link loss rate while avoiding an interference among near-by nodes depending on the link location. In the previous work, we derived such an optimal schedule but it assumes the packet generation rate is identical over all nodes. In this report, therefore, we enhance the scheduling scheme applicable to nodes with non-uniform packet generation rates. We investigate its effectiveness and issues through wireless network simulation. |
