Abstract(in English) | In this paper, we evaluate the performance of human detection method using 360-degree images to estimate the sidewalk congestion level. Because the 360-degree image is captured by an omnidirectional camera, performed the image stitching, and transformed by equirectangular projection, the captured 360-degree image is distorted. Therefore, to detect humans with higher accuracy and longer distance, we do not use the distorted 360-degree image but use the “corrected” image by projection method. In addition, to maintain an advantage of high resolution, we extract the image corresponding to a certain field of view from the corrected image. By performing the process, we validate the improvement of detection distance. Furthermore, we attempt to detection pedestrians on the sidewalk around Waseda University. In the experiment, we adopt gnomonic projection as a projection method and YOLOv3 as a human detection. |
