Design of computer-generated hologram for discrimination of concave and convex fine defects on dielectric surface

Abstract(in English) Small defects on a flat surface can be measured from the phase information of the reflected light. However, discrimination of the fine convex and concave defects that are smaller than the illumination wavelength is difficult because of the complicated relation of the phase information and the defect structure. In this study, we design a computer-generated hologram to discriminate fine convex and concave defects on a dielectric flat surface. This system does not need any interferometer and mechanical scanning. The defect identification can be easily achieved by observing the spot intensity after passing the scattered wave from the sample through this hologram.
