A Proposal of a Matching Algorithm Using a Vegetable Feature Quantification Method for Irregular Vegetables Utilization

Abstract(in English) Vegetables that are misshaped or have scratches do not conform to standards and are called irregular vegetables. Farmers dispose all of them, and the disposal rate is about 40$%$ of the total production. Our group have built an irregular vegetable utilization system to utilize the irregular vegetables as side dishes and processed food, and to reduce the waste volume. However, due to various defects of irregular vegetables, there are problems that processing plants can not process these vegetables. In order to solve these problems, in the previous research, we proposed a vegetable feature quantification method which expresses the characteristics of vegetables using feature tags, and tried to quantify the degree of vegetable defects. In this paper, we calculate evaluation value of vegetables from defects of irregular vegetables that can be handled in processing plants and defects of collected irregular vegetables. Furthermore, we consider a matching algorithm that distributes vegetables to some processing plants based on the calculated evaluation values.
