Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) Iridescent color appearing in such as soap bubbles and inside surface of seashells is one kind of structural color caused by optical phenomenon known as thin film interference. In recent years, 3D CG applications and game engines such as PIXAR Renderman and UNITY support several structural color shaders. However, it is not so easy for an CG artist to control this optical phenomenon caused by the characteristics of light by setting the parameters of the renderer. This paper presents experimental results of the method to control the thin film shader appropriately by understanding the wavelength characteristics of light on Arnold renderer. In addition, as demonstrating a feature of the iridescent color, some artworks of 3D CG animation will show changing of the hue of glittering color occurring due to the movement of the viewpoint.
