Aircraft Image Classification using Perceptual Hashing

Abstract(in English) In this paper, we propose new method of aircraft classification using perceptual hashing. Many studies have been conducted on measuring aircraft with optical telescopes and radio radars and automatically recognizing and classifying models. In those studies, the data handled in image processing is an image in which the aircraft is reflected to some extent. Our proposal for identifying aircraft types from aircraft images with low resolution is essential from the viewpoint of security to specify the type of aircraft approaching regardless of civil aircraft or military aircraft. First, using a Fine-Grained Visual Classification of Aircraft (FGVC-Aircraft) image, a low-resolution simulated pseudo-low-resolution image is created in advance. Next, four typical types of aircraft are created as CG images using 3DCG software. This CG image is also processed for resolution reduction. Two low-resolution images were compared using perceptual hashing, and a method for deriving automatic aircraft recognition and attitude angle was developed.
