Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) Persons recognize conditions of their frontal surroundings of their eyes. In contrast, they recognize their behind condition by hearing, because their behind are blind spot in their vision. Therefore, it is difficult for hearing-impaired persons or persons who use a headphone to recognize their behind conditions and some danger from behind due to lack of the auditory information. In this study, we aim to develop a system which can detect some danger from its behind and can inform the danger to a user by an acoustic signal processing with machine learning technology. In this paper, we showed the results of considerations of appropriate microphone position for estimation of sound source direction using two channel microphones installed on an eyeglass. As a result, the accuracy of estimated sound source direction every 15 degrees is the highest, i.e. 96.5% when two-channel microphones are installed on the front of the temple part of the eyeglass. It is a 6.0 point improvement compared to the accuracy when two-channel binaural microphones are attached on ear canals.
