Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) This paper presents an energy management storage system with the multi-stage FET bidirectional converter to utilize battery charging and discharging characteristics. The proposed system is highly efficient energy management system using the multi-stage FET bidirectional converter which consist of series-connected low voltage Si-FETs. Depending on the charging and discharging characteristics of the battery, a power control to utilize battery performances improves battery charging efficiency by 1.5% and achieves 94.8%. Using the battery equivalent circuit model, the battery charging characteristics and the power conversion operation of the entire storage system are analyzed. The phase compensator of the entire storage system is designed based on the analysis results. The experimental results showed that the proposed converter can achieve a maximum power conversion efficiency of 99.2%.
