Consideration of input data in person recognition by gait using Extreme Learning Machine

Abstract(in English) In this research, we consider a method of person recognition using an Extreme Learning Machine (ELM) whose inputs are Gait Energy Images (GEI) that are images including gait features. The method using ELM can greatly reduce the computational cost compared with the conventional method, however, it has the problem that the recognition accuracy is lower than that of conventional method. Therefore, we trimmed GEIs used for training and recognition and changed the similarity calculation method when we evaluate recognition accuracy. As a result, the recognition accuracy was improved.
