[Special Talk] Conical monopole antennas with non-uniform transmission line type structure terminated in free space impedance

Abstract(in English) An antenna may be impedance transformer and mode transformer. Conical monopole antennas with non-uniform transmission line type structure terminated in free space impedance were proposed. The proposed antennas are based on a single cone antenna and have various non-uniform transmission line type structures which are Linear, Exponential, Hill, and Double Boltzmann function type tapered lines as a broadband radiation device. The characteristic impedance of the antennas changes from 50 Ω of the feed point to the free space impedance according to various functions. As a result of experiment of Hill tapered antenna of length L=0.3m, the return loss was less then -20dB in frequency range from 1.4 GHz to 9 GHz.
