Measurement of Angular Velocity Vector of Rotating Sports Ball using Doppler Radar

Abstract(in English) In this study, we propose a method to measure the angular velocity vector of a rotating ball using multiple Doppler radars. This method focuses on the fact that a linear velocity vector of an arbitrary point which goes around an angular velocity vector is always orthogonal to the angular velocity vector. We conducted both a computer simulation and an actual experiment to verify the usefulness of this method. Furthermore, we discuss possible ways to decrease the errors of the angular velocity vector obtained by our method.
