Abstract(in English) | This report proposes a transmission line model of a thin cylindrical conductor without a return path. The phenomena of propagation and scattering on an infinite cylindrical perfect conductor have long been researched. However, formulation for a finite-length wire is not straightforward because the field radiates from the wire terminals. In the proposed model, the terminal effect is incorporated as a feedback effect of retarded electric field, suppressing the amplitude of the traveling wave at resonant frequencies. With the model, its dynamics is totally clarified through a componentwise expression that reflects propagation along a wire, reaction against field radiation, and scattering of electromagnetic waves. |
