Abstract(in English) | In a two-tier heterogeneous network (HetNet) , mitigation of interference between the MC and SC (i.e., cross-tier interference) is an important issue, where macro cell (MC) and small cell (SC) use the same time/frequency resources. The authors have proposed to estimate cross-channel state information between macro base station (MBS) and small cell users (SUs) by using uplink pilots and optimizing the precoding weights at MBS so as to mitigate interference from MBS to SU. However, in the above work, cross-tier interference mitigation from small-cell base station (SBS) to macro users (MUs) is not taken into consideration. In this paper, we propose a cross-tier interference mitigation scheme that coordinates not only cross-tier interference from MBS to SU but also that from SBS to MU in time division duplex (TDD) based two-tier HetNet where massive multi-input multi-output (mMIMO) is equipped at MBS. In this scheme, cross-tier interference can be mitigated without increasing the pilot overhead in comparison with the conventional scheme. Simulation results show that the proposed scheme is effective in improving downlink sum-rate. |
