Construction of HDR Image Database with Subjective Evaluation Scores for Deep Learning

Abstract(in English) For displaying a high dynamic range (HDR) image on a standard monitor, it is necessary to apply a tone mapping method to an HDR image. Lots of tone mapping methods have been proposed. However, the appearance of tone-mapped images significantly depends on the concepts and algorithms of tone mapping methods. In particular, the method to provide the most preferable appearance has been still discussed yet, because the tone-mapped appearance depends on scene contents. In this paper, toward the development of the tone mapping method based on the deep learning, we constructed an HDR image database with subjective preferable tags. We also discussed the deep-learning-based tone mapping method using our HDR image database.
