Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) Optical comparators have the potential to improve the power consumption of optical communication systems, as they directly perform the required operations in the optical domain. The author has recently been engaged in optical signal processing, and previously demonstrated optical comparison operation for QPSK-modulated signal. However, the device has a limitation that requires integration into an actual system. In this paper, the author proposed an integrated optical comparator which is based on silicon photonics technology, and experimentally demonstrated their performance at 10 Gbaud.
