Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) For the realization of the next-generation satellite broadcasting system, the use of Ka-band band is discussed. However, the rain attenuation increases dramatically compared with Ku-band used in current satellite broadcasting system in Japan. Therefore, it's necessary to develop advanced rain fade mitigation techniques. We propose the technique using multi-beam satellite; transmission power from the satellite is controlled based on the weather condition in each service area. In this article, we report the service availability in consideration of the beam-directivity, and the result of effectiveness of the proposed method has been shown.
