Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) In recent years, 3D models are used in various fields. Accordingly, the amount of 3D shape models available on the Internet is rapidly increasing, so that the need for accurately searching 3D shape models is also increasing. In the manufacturing industry, accurately partial shape search is required, in which partial shapes of 3D models are used as search queries for the purpose of application to processing result databases. Therefore, in this paper, we propose a new partial shape similarity search method for mechanical parts. In our proposed method, a partial shape is extracted using the surface of a 3D model. Furthermore, by using the adjacency relationship between surfaces, high accuracy is achieved by using information that be not able to obtain from a single surface. We conducted experiments of our proposed method by using the mechanical part datasets collected uniquely, the effectiveness was shown.
