Consideration of Estimating Gaze Direction Using 360-Degree Camera for Evaluating Listening Skills in a Group Discussion

Abstract(in English) Educational programs aiming at cultivating generic skills such as communication skills are conducted at various educational institutions. Listening skills are one of the communication skills. Several metrics for evaluating user listening skills have been proposed. To evaluate user listening skills, we propose a method for estimating the user's gaze direction using only a 360-degree camera. As a case study, we experimented to estimate the gaze direction of four subjects facing each other. We confirmed that the proposed method can correctly estimate the subject's gaze direction by about 70%.
