Abstract(in English) | In order to perform navigation for people and wheelchair users, it is necessary to estimate the location of the sidewalk units on both sides of the passage instead of the conventional location estimation of the passage unit. However, satellite positioning used outdoors has an average horizontal error of about 13 meter, and the error significantly increases in urban areas where there are tall buildings(urban canyons). In such a place, the accuracy of determining which of the two sidewalks (passages) sandwiching the road from the positioning results by satellites is greatly reduced. Therefore, in this paper, we propose a new method to estimate the state of the buildings on the left and right from the received signal strength of satellite on the left and right with respect to the traveling direction, and to determine which path on the left and right has passed. It shows that the determination accuracy is improved by 20% compared to the method using only map-matching. |
