Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) Variable-to-fixed length (VF) coding of General Sources is studied. In particular, the overflow probability, i.e., the probability that the compression ratio exceeds a give threshold, is investigated. Our result shows that the optimum achievable threshold is characterized by the spectral sup-entropy rate of the source.
