Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) English is widely learned using movie. We believe that the Japanese translation can be recalled through the scenes by enhancing the combined memory of the scene and subtitles by making the subtitles follow the speakers. In previous studies, it has been shown that speaker-following subtitles can improve viewing, but the effect on memory retention has not been clarified. In this paper, we report the results of English vocabulary learning using conventional subtitles and speaker-following subtitles, and compared the results of memory retention one week later.
