A Study on time efficiency of CSMA/CA for IVC

Abstract(in English) CSMA/CA has been widely accepted as a Media Access Control scheme for Inter-Vehicle Communication systems. In CSMA/CA, the mobile station waits a frame transmission during a backoff interval based on uniform random value. If the transmission of other mobile stations is not detected, the transmission is postponed until next time. Otherwise, if the generated random value is equal to 0, it behaves differently from the other cases and there is a concern about a fairness of the transmission opportunity. In this paper, we evaluate the performance of CSMA/CA and the fairness of transmission opportunity by using network simulation.
