A study on transmission efficiency of systematic Spinal code

Abstract(in English) A spinal code is one of promising rate-less code by combining forward error collection with automatic repeat-request. In the decoding of the spinal code, a collision of codewords may degrade the transmission efficiency. The systematic coded spinal code can improve the transmission efficiency because of the avoidance of the collision of the codewords. In this paper, we compare the systematic spinal code with the conventional convolutional codes used in current communication systems and evaluate the transmission efficiency of the systematic spinal code.
