Abstract(in English) | In conventional networks, since communication devices were homogeneous and a central entity operated the networks, they can be optimized so that the amount of communication flow is maximized, which is one of the objectives in network optimization. However, toward the Internet-of-Things (IoT) era, communication networks will become more heterogeneous; since a wide variety of communication devices may coexist and may be operated by different entities, the optimization can be much more difficult than the one for homogeneous networks. Therefore, cooperation between communication devices is essential in heterogeneous networks. The speaker has been woking on the following research issues: 1) utility brought about by cooperation, 2) cost caused by cooperation, and 3) incentive mechanism for cooperation. This talk presents his multidisciplinary approach and research result. Furthermore, in such cooperative networks, since communication resource obtained by cooperation is strictly limited, `valuable' data should be delivered with high priority. In this talk, prediction of spatial information is considered as an application toward the IoT era and the way and the result of data `assessment' are discussed. |
