Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) In recent years, impulse radio ultra-wideband (IR-UWB) communication of an impulse radio (Impulse Radio) system has attracted attention. IR-UWB is a radio technique that consists to send extremely short impulses (few nano-seconds), allows for precise ranging by measuring the round trip time of the impulses between communication devices, realizes the secure ranging with a encrypted impulse sequence. When IR-UWB is employed by wearable devices, in the 3 GHz to 10 GHz band where IR-UWB can be used, the propagation loss due to human body shadowing becomes a major problem. In this paper, we examine how the shadowing attenuation changes depending on the frequency and the antenna-human distance. And, how to select the frequency for IR-UWB communication is clarified.
