On the Fundamental Equation of User Dynamics and the Structure of Online Social Networks

Abstract(in English) With the spread of information networks, the user dynamics in online social networks becomes to influence not only online communities but also social activities in the real world. In particular, explosive user dynamics such as flaming which occurs in online social networks can potentially give a serious impact on the social activities in the real world because the growing and propagating speed of their dynamics is far exceeding that of human rational decision making. The oscillation model of networks can describe user dynamics in online social networks. In particular, the fundamental equation of the oscillation model in networks can explicitly describe the causal relation of user dynamics caused by a certain specific structure of social networks. However, the fundamental equation has the following two different challenges: all the solutions of the original wave equation on networks should be able to be derived from the fundamental equation, and the matrices that are appeared in the fundamental equation and the original wave equation should have the same link structure. This paper discusses the solution of the later problem, and shows the both problems are solved naturally and simultaneously.
