[Invited Lecture] A Study on MEC System Design for Vehicular Applications

Abstract(in English) With the groth of 5G technologies, the remote control of vehicles has become a reality. However our previous work reveals that the use of cloud servers deployed in the internet does not satisfy the delay requirement. The typical delay between the vehicle and the cloud server is less than several tens of miliseconds, but sometime it exceeds 100 miliseconds or more. To provide the safety and stable services, the servers should be deployed in the mobile network instead of in the internet. In this report we will consider the optimum location of the MEC server in the mobile network. We will present some results of desgin studies that is estimated by using open data, and discuss the applicability of the MEC.
