Abstract(in English) Visual information of food is an important cue to our expectations for taste of food, however, effect of visual texture is not clear. In this study, to investigate the effect of visual texture in food, we measured impressions for yogurts which surface was or was not messed. The results revealed the ratings for yogurts were more negative and expected less sweet and much sourer under the messed conditions than those under other conditions. In conclusion, the effect of visual texture on taste expectation is observed.
