[Invited Lecture] Wireless Networks Using UAV for Emergency Communication Systems during Large-Scale Disasters

Abstract(in English) This presentation focuses on wireless networks using unmanned aerialvehicles (UAVs) for emergency communication systems during large-scaledisasters. In the systems, construction of the wireless networks inthe sky can keep line-of-sight (LoS) among wireless nodes, and thencovers the disaster stricken area effectively. There are some issues for the systems: it may be difficult to prepare UAVsenough to cover the disaster stricken area, and the flight modelsshould support autonomous operations that do not need complexconfigurations. I study flight models that achieve small transmission delay whilekeeping the smaller number of UAVs so far. In addition, the performance of the flight models isevaluated taking account of the influence of UAVs' stop due to their battery exhaustion and theinclination of flying UAVs. I present the modeling and evaluation ofthe influence of the inclination of flying UAVs.
