Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) For the next generation mobile communication, a combination of MIMO and NOMA is referred to as MIMO-NOMA and has been investigated in order to meet a demand for rapidly growing throughput. As the number of transmit/receive antennas of MIMO and the number of multiple users of NOMA increase, however, a amount of computational complexity of the optimum signal detection grows exponentially. In the conventional NOMA system, successive interference cancellation (SIC) is employed as its signal detection and can reduce the complexity drastically. As well-known signal detection schemes of MIMO, the maximum likelihood detection (MLD) is the optimal signal detection, while MMSE is classified into the linear detection and can separate data streams with low complexity. In this report, the following schemes are considered signal detection schemes of MIMO-NOMA: i) The MLD method, which detects the signals without separating data streams, ii) concatenation of SIC and MMSE, which separates the data streams and can reduce the complexity, iii) QRM-MLD, which combines the MLD with the QR decomposition of the channel matrix and applies the M-algorithm to spatially multiplexed signals, and iv) QRM-MLDM, which extends the M-algorithm of QRM- MLD to the signal detection for NOMA. Compared with iii) QRM-MLD, iv) QRM-MLDM aims to reduce the complexity while keeping the accuracy of signal detection. While the complexity of the above signal detection schemes is theoretically analyzed, their average bit error rate (BER) performances are evaluated by computer simulation.
