Abstract(in English) | Next generation mobile communications require machine-to-machine (M2M) communications in a wide service area. Such M2M communications should maintain low latency and high reliability, but cannot efficiently use LTE resources because the amount of their payloads per packet is relatively small. To solve this problem, the subgrant method has been proposed. The method enables device-to-device (D2D) communications not via base stations, while reusing unused resources. Sine this scheme requires all devices to perform scheduling for the resource reuse and to search for many devices, however, each device needs a large amount of computational complexity. To reduce such complexity, this report proposes a radio resource reuse scheme that makes fog nodes manage M2M communications in local areas. Since the fog node can easily perform the scheduling for the resource reuse and search for devices, the proposed scheme can reduce the computationally complexity for the devices and can efficiently reuse the radio resources. Computer simulations quantitatively evaluate spectral efficiency and delay time of the proposed scheme in order to demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed resource reuse with the fog nodes. |
